About — Alaska Air Fuel
A love for aviation and the last frontier
Alaska Air Fuel is a family-owned fueling company rooted in faith, built on community, and driven by the belief that every Alaskan deserves to be well-served.
Where It Began
John Sliwinski came to Nome, Alaska to fly cargo and passengers across some of the most remote terrain. It was there that he met his wife Kellyn; together they fell in love with the land and the people who make such a unique place home.
John loved people. Every village, every airstrip, every passenger — he found something worth knowing in everyone he met. John and Kellyn later moved to Anchorage where they raised a family, but the people of rural Alaska never left his heart.
In 2012, guided by their faith and a deep desire to serve the communities of rural Alaska, John and Kellyn founded Alaska Air Fuel. What started as a commitment to providing dependable fuel service to underserved villages grew into a company built on the values John carried with him everywhere — hard work, generosity, and faith.

The Next Generation
Continuing what our father started
Today, Alaska Air Fuel is carried forward by John and Kellyn's sons, Ethan and Sam. They grew up watching their father show what it looks like to put others first — to give without keeping score, and to trust that God would provide the way forward.
Ethan and Sam have grown the company into new territory, developing the trucking and on-airport fueling operations. They recently renovated a building at Wasilla Municipal Airport (PAWS) to serve as a full-service FBO — a place where pilots can expect a warm welcome and dependable service.
But the heart of the business hasn't changed. The same selflessness, the same commitment to people, and the same faith that guided their father — that's still what drives every decision. John's legacy isn't just a company. It's a way of doing business. And Ethan and Sam intend to honor it every day.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
